Course Benefits

Develop specific competencies in order to ensure Safety related staff to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes applicable to the gathering, management and analysis of safety information (occurrences, incidents and accidents) within SMS/SSP frameworks.

Who shoud attend

The primary target population consists of Safety staff in charge of the oversight of the aviation safety performance within air transport Organizations (Airlines, ANSP, etc.) or Civil Aviation Authorities:

  • Safety Occurrences Reporting Systems
  • Relevant staff in Safety Oversight
  • Incidents and Safety Data analysts
  • The secondary target population can be identified staff within audit units, safety inspection units, certification units, etc.



At the successful completion of this course, trainees will get competencies to efficiently:

  • Define basic politics and characteristics of a SORA system
  • Design characteristics and components integrating a SORA System
  • Enter basic information from reports into safety database
  • Complete preliminary classification and severity assessment for each occurrence
  • Conduct a formal safety analysis
  • Conduct data driven risk analysis based on statistical exploitation of stored occurrences
  • Identify and issue relevant safety recommendations
