The Global Aviation Training Office (GAT) aims to lead Human Resources Development strategies established by Member States and the aviation community to ensure they have access to a sufficient number of qualified and competent personnel to operate, manage and maintain current and future air transport system at prescribed international standards for:

  • Aerodromes
  • Air Transport
  • Air Navigation Services
  • Environment
  • Flight Safety and Safety Management
  • Security and Facilitation
  • Training Competency Building

From the first day, The Tunisian Academy for Civil Aviation Safety and Security Training (AFSAC) planned to reach the highest level of aviation training by joining this Global Aviation Training Program.

The process for becoming a full TRAINAIR PLUS member entails completing three rigorous phases;

  • Pre-Assessment,
  • On-site Assessment – which completed on March 2016, and in May 2016 AFSAC received the TRAINAIR PLUS Associate certificate and became TPP Associate Member, and
  • Post-Assessment which entails the creation and completion of the TP STP to become a TRAINAIR PLUS Member.

On 24th of March 2017 AFSAC in less than one year AFSAC became a TRAINAIR PLUS FULL MEMBER after a successful development of the world’s first TRAINAIR PLUS Standardized Training Package (STP) in French language tilted (Gestion efficace du Processus Lettres OACI aux États), Effective Management of the ICAO Letters to States Process which represents a major importance for all member states of ICAO.

AFSAC received the gold TRAINAIR PLUS full membership by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) at an official ceremony held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in April 2017.

The ceremony was attended by Dr. Fang Liu, ICAO Secretary General, Mr. Meshesha Belayneh, Chief, Global Aviation Training, Mr. Hassan Seddik AFSAC Chief Board of Directors, Mr. Mostafa Abdelaal Executive Director, and Ms Aziza Seddik ICAO focal point.
